The idea of Matthew 25 began in the hearts of ministry-minded
people in our community some 30 years ago.
The volunteers of the St. Mary’s
Soup Kitchen served meals to people in our community and
sensed that greater physical needs existed. So a small
group of them began praying about what to do.
On May 1, 1976, they opened a free
medical clinic—Matthew
25—in a small house on Clay Street for the needy of
the community. Three years later, in 1979, Matthew 25 added
dental services.
