Who We Are
Matthew 25 Health and Care is a nonprofit, gospel-inspired healthcare center located in Fort Wayne, Indiana. We care for a wide range of needs—from common concerns to complex conditions. Our services are provided at no charge to low-income adults in a 15-county area who do not have medical or dental insurance. Since 1976, Matthew 25 has served as a unique, vital resource—filling a critical need in the community—and is one of the largest of its kind in the region.
We meet each patient right where he or she is in life—oftentimes during the most difficult, uncomfortable situations he or she has ever faced. No matter what brings the patient through our doors or what lies ahead, we care for everyone with compassion, dignity, and respect as we provide excellent care for the mind and body. Inspired by our namesake scripture, we are called to help and called to care.
What We Do
At Matthew 25, we provide high-quality, full-spectrum medical, dental, vision, and mental health services as well as medication assistance for those in need. With the help of experienced physicians, dentists, and providers, we deliver acute care for illnesses and injuries, as well as chronic disease management, preventive services, and counseling. We offer more than 20 specialty clinics and a well-rounded list of services.
Who We Serve
We are committed to serving residents of Northeast Indiana and Northwest Ohio who are 18 years and older, uninsured, and live at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. We serve the following counties: Allen, Adams, DeKalb, Huntington, Kosciusko, LaGrange, Noble, Steuben, Wabash, Wells, Whitley, Defiance, Paulding, Van Wert, and Williams. Our patients come to us from all walks of life with diverse backgrounds and beliefs. Some are homeless, but the majority have jobs. They are the “working poor” who are underemployed or work multiple part-time jobs to provide for their families. People who are 40-60 years old make up the fastest-growing group served by Matthew 25. Many are individuals who have had medical benefits for years but have seen their situations change.
How We're Funded
Matthew 25 receives no government funding and is supported entirely by individuals, businesses, organizations, and churches as well as grants from foundations. All gifts made to Matthew 25 are fully deductible within the terms of the IRS code. We do not share donor information outside of the organization.
Why We Serve
Matthew 25 is so much more than a healthcare center. We are led by a common goal to care for “the least of these brothers and sisters” as Christ instructs in the Gospel of Matthew. We do this by serving as His eyes, ears, hands, and heart, looking beyond our patients’ issues and circumstances—to bring hope, comfort, and high-quality healthcare to thousands of people each year who are some of the most vulnerable in our community. We are a place that encourages health and wellness. We want to help our patients live life to the fullest. We want our service to be a powerful witness of God’s love.
