FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Effective Friday, February 25, 2022, Matthew 25 Health and Care rolls back some of their COVID-19 Policies.
Matthew 25 will continue to require the use of masks worn over the mouth and nose for everyone in the building – staff, volunteers, patients, and visitors. Additionally, the Front Desk Staff and Volunteers will continue to take temperature readings and screen patients and guests by asking specific questions related to COVID symptoms. However, the health center will revert to pre-COVID protocols in the following ways:
· New medical patients can now come for an in-person eligibility interview between 8:30am – 11:30am. Phone interviews will still be offered by calling 260-426-3250 x202.
· Limited walk-in appointments are now available for established medical patients with no COVID symptoms.
· For established and new patients displaying COVID symptoms, please call the phone nurse at 260-426-3250 x237 for further instruction.
According to Medical Director, Tammie Stinson, MD, “We are cognizant that variants of the coronavirus, COVID-19, are still very much present in our community, so we do not make these changes lightly. However, we recognize that some of the policies placed during the height of the pandemic were restricting access to care for many in our patient population. We feel that the changes still place patient health and safety as the number one consideration.”
Matthew 25 serves low-income adults who have no medical or dental insurance. For more information about Matthew 25 or to support its community efforts, please visit matthew25online.org or call the office at 260-469-0467. Donations are 100% tax deductible.
