Matthew 25 Health and Care of Fort Wayne, Indiana, has been awarded a $22,800 grant from the St. Joseph Community Health Foundation. This grant will be used for interpretation services to better serve our diverse patient population.
This generous grant will allow our team of staff and volunteers to effectively communicate with our ESL (English as a Second Language) population through a virtual interpretation service. With this technology, we can converse in over 300 languages!
Matthew 25 provides medical, dental, mental health and vision care to adults with low income and no health insurance. Fort Wayne’s only full-time safety-net health organization operates at no cost to patients and takes no governmental or insurance money.
“When non-English-speaking patients are seen, it is imperative to be able to give them information in their own language for the best outcomes. A treatment plan that isn't understood can't be followed. Therefore, having language interpretation services is crucial,” declares Matthew 25 Medical Director, Dr. Tammie Stinson. “We are grateful for the continued support of St. Joseph Community Health Foundation.”
Matthew 25 relies on the generosity of individuals, companies, and foundations. For more information about Matthew 25 or to support its community efforts, please visit matthew25online.org or call the office at 260-469-0468. Matthew 25 is a 501(c)3 organization. Donations are 100% tax deductible.
